Upgrades to Yardley Park & Barnes Park

Exciting New Developments to Commence Next Month

Green Ponds Municipality Council has secured $350,000 in funding to be spent on upgrading playground equipment and facilities at both Yardley Park and Barnes Park.

The upgrades (which are likely to have a positive long-term effect on local house prices) draw upon ideas suggested by locals and the latest trends in playground design. ‘Fun, modern parks increase the desirability of houses local to them, particularly for young families. These upgrades should attract more potential buyers, and demand should increase the value of existing local properties.’ Said Joe Harvey, of Harvey’s Real Estate.

Safety has been a top priority, and all upgrades are compliant with the latest Australian Safety Standards.

‘I’m overjoyed that Council is taking our ideas on board, and modernising our local park. Having a safe, fun place for my children to play has always been important to me.’ Said Sally Fenton, local mother.

Work will begin on June 23rd 2016 and is expected to finish by late August 2016. During this time, the BBQ and toilet facilities will also be affected, but temporary toilets will be on site.

Opening ceremonies will be held for both parks, and will be announced via the council homepage upon confirmation.

‘The upgrades will provide improved facilities for families with children, featuring exciting new play equipment, and sufficient sun shade. We are also using this time to upgrade the BBQ and toilet facilities available to park users.’ stated Janet Seymour, Manager for Infrastructure and Development.
